His first international appearance for Australia happened in 1998 for a limited over cricket match against Pakistan in Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore. At that match, he did not get an opportunity to bat and bowled just 02 overs.
HIs inaugural test cricket match was against Sri Lanka at Galle International Stadium, on March 08, 2004. In that match he was unable to do much with the bat, in both innings picks by Great Muttiah Muralitharan.
